How to Charge Your Worth As An Entrepreneur?
I know from my own experience that too many entrepreneurs, (Women-Especially) are overly heart-centered and don’t charge enough (if at all!) for their work.
I used to think that I was the only person with this problem during the days of old when I found it hard to charge for my time and energy…until I begin to coach other women. So, as I follow up on an email to a client of mine and help her push past her fear of what others will think about her new pricing structure, I am sharing with you what I believe ALL entrepreneurs MUST practice in order to know and embrace their worth.
I ask my clients: “What Happens When You Cheat Yourself?”
Usually when I ask this, all of them look at me with a confused face and sometimes get defensive because they don’t recognize that they are cheating themselves. Then, once we move through that conversation, I explain to them that when they don’t charge their worth, they minimize their worth and cheat themselves out of their own desires. I explain further that being afraid to articulate their value is a total dis-service to their life and ultimately becomes a dis-service to their clients!
As you could imagine, we struggle through the conversation until I am able to get them to agree that there is always a transference of energy in addition to the transference of money every time they transact business with someone else. And, at all times, there has to be an equal exchange of energy for their work and brain power to deliver the task, or service, or product. So as I would say to my client, let me say to you: If you are undervaluing yourself, you’re taking away the satisfaction and enjoyment that your client could have while working with you if the energy exchanged is mutually – rewarding and worthwhile.
So let’s now look at the 5 steps I recommend using to charge your worth as an entrepreneur:
#1. UNDERSTAND & EDUCATE others about the value of your work
Do you really know the value of your work? For example, will working with you help your clients obtain financial freedom, teach people how to leave a life-sucking J-O-B, and do what they truly love and live their purpose for the rest of their lives? Do you help your clients embrace their beauty or body, or do you restore confidence? Do you make life easy for them so that they spend more times with loved ones? If you answered yes to any of this, you ARE helping people find fulfilment, love, and show up even more in their lives and businesses! Holy CRAP!!! What is the value of that? I’ll tell you what it is! It’s Priceless, and people will pay you every dime that they have if you are able to do what you say you can. TELL THEM THE TRUTH, YOU ARE WORTH EVERY DAMN PENNY!!!!!
#2. Change plot in your money story
Release any, old, mind limiting beliefs and stories that are holding you back. They’re not even yours, anyway! Somebody made you believe the bullsh--. Most practices and beliefs you have about money were passed down from your parents or society… and only God knows where they inherited them unknowingly! These thoughts and references no longer serve you. You are released right now from accepting them. Today is the day, that you say HELLO to wealth consciousness and ABUNDANCE that already belongs to you! It’s there and you are at this moment (and because you’re reading my blog getting into alignment to accept it. This month, today is the perfect opportunity to commit to reprogramming your belief system and turn up your PayMe-O-Meter!!! Study wealth consciousness, money mindset materials, and with a business coach like me (shameless plug)!
#3. Offer programs and packages that reflect your Lane of Genius
STAY IN YOUR LANE! You’ve got to offer programs that are in your LANE – your zone or expertise. The Universe works that way – when are positioned and in alignment with your natural gifts, and you couple that with your purpose and your passion, everything that you require will be provided and presented to you without strain or stress! This is why competition shouldn’t scare you or make you feel less than worthy of great opportunities. The way I see it, competition doesn’t exist. You’re unique, and others have equal gifts, but your specific Lane of Genius is not duplicable!
Today, stop comparing offers, services, and rates to others based on what you think looks similar. Start finding out what your gifts are, and then offer packages, services, and programs that are in alignment with YOU, and where you want to be financially.
#4. Realize that You are Not Your Client (it’s not about you)
A lot of women entrepreneurs are afraid of increasing prices because one they may not be able to afford that service or place as high of a value on it, because the skill comes natural for you. You have not stepped out of your own experience to recognize that you are unique and that YOU are what others need. Think less as well about what will other people think/say/do? The truth of the matter is, what people say and how they react is truly none of your business. One of my favorite mindset coaches is As Abraham-Hicks, and she once said…
“When you offer premium services, you allow your clients to invest in themselves at a higher level through you – it’s more about them than it is about you.” This changed the game for me and for my clients, because I started to want more for them and with a higher investment in me, I could provide the best for them. It’s not about YOU.
#5. Invest in Financial Mentor
When you commit to investing in your business, stuff comes up from every direction and the pressure to pay is turned up to the max! This is why pushing yourself to improve your business and charge your worth is the ultimate self-development program that you can do. So its important for you to invest in yourself and hire a coach or mentor that is determined to help you clear away all blocks that are stopping you from doubling, tripling, and charging $XXXX number of dollars more with confidence. The time is now and #timesup on cheating yourself.
